NOMAD · For high-volume print production

Billboard paper. Poster paper. PVC-free walls. Handled with precision, at industrial speed.

NOMAD is a dedicated production platform for uncoated media. Eight Epson printheads lay water-based pigment at up to 380 m²/h, an integrated 8 kW dryer keeps pace, and a stabilised ink supply runs 3000-metre rolls without a flow interruption. No solvent smell on the shop floor. No coating premium on your paper.

Applications

Three markets. One machine that was built for them, not adapted to them.

Most wide-format platforms treat uncoated paper as an afterthought. NOMAD treats it as the whole point. The ink load, the drying power and the media path were engineered around how raw paper actually behaves.

4×3 metre outdoor billboard printed on blueback paper
A — Outdoor

Billboards & out-of-home

Seamless 4×3 blueback production, panel after panel, shift after shift. Built for continuous, automated long runs: the siphon supply refills itself, the air shafts swap rolls in minutes, and the print never waits for the dryer.

  • Blueback and citylight papers up to 2000 mm wide
  • Rolls up to 3000 m for uninterrupted campaign runs
  • Water-based chemistry suited to dense urban environments
High-density retail campaign poster, printed odor-free
B — Indoor

Posters, POS & POP

Temporary retail campaigns live and die on turnaround. NOMAD prints them fast, dense and completely odorless, so graphics can go from the rewinder to the shop floor the same day, with no off-gassing around staff or customers.

  • High-speed, high-density CMYK on poster paper
  • Odor-free output, ready for immediate indoor display
  • Up to 1200 dpi for short viewing distances
PVC-free printed wallcovering in a hospitality interior
C — Interiors

PVC-free custom wallcoverings

Hotels, restaurants and design studios are specifying away from vinyl. NOMAD prints non-woven, PVC-free wallpaper with the colour depth interiors demand and the clean chemistry their procurement policies now require.

  • Non-woven substrate compatibility for premium interiors
  • Water-based pigment: no solvent odour in finished spaces
  • A growing specification in hospitality and retail fit-outs

Why water-based pigment

The chemistry your market is moving toward

European cities are restricting PVC and solvent media in public spaces. Brands are writing sustainability clauses into print tenders. NOMAD's ink set was chosen for exactly this direction of travel.

Regulation

Tender-ready compliance

Water-based pigment inks aligned with REACH requirements and low-VOC expectations, for OOH work in cities tightening their rules on outdoor media.

People

A shop floor without solvent air

Odorless production, output that's safe to handle straight away, and graphics fit for sensitive indoor environments such as schools, hospitals and hotels.

Lifecycle

Recyclable ephemeral graphics

Paper in, paper out. Event and exhibition graphics that enter the paper recycling stream instead of the landfill, with a print engine drawing just 2 kW.

Industrial robustness

Engineered for the run that doesn't stop

Throughput numbers are easy to print on a datasheet. Holding them through hour six of a campaign run is an engineering problem. This is how NOMAD holds them.

NOMAD capping station with the eight Epson I3200-A1 printhead positions
  • 8 × Epson I3200-A1 piezoelectric printheads in a single-pass configuration, with automatic cleaning and a low-ink alarm watching every channel.
  • Stabilised two-stage ink delivery: a 220 ml secondary tank buffers each colour between the 5 L bottles and the heads, so pressure stays constant and long runs stay consistent.
  • Integrated external air + heat dryer, up to 8 kW, sized so maximum print speed on uncoated paper never outruns drying.
  • Automatic air-expansion shaft system with double shafts: heavy 2000 mm rolls load fast and run true.
  • A 1200 kg industrial chassis (3550 × 1590 × 1970 mm) that keeps eight heads in registration at full speed, with an integrated computer and Onyx RIP workflow.

How it runs

One continuous path, from raw roll to finished graphic

Unwind, print, dry, rewind. Each stage is sized to the one before it, so the web never stops to wait. This is what 380 m²/h looks like when it has to hold for a full shift.

UNWIND 8 HEADS PRINT 8 kW DRYER DRY REWIND
01 · Unwind

Double air-expansion shafts take 2000 mm rolls up to 3000 m, and swap in minutes.

02 · Print

Eight Epson I3200-A1 heads lay water-based pigment in a single pass, fed by a stabilised siphon supply.

03 · Dry

Integrated air and heat dryer up to 8 kW, matched to full speed so ink sets on the fly.

04 · Rewind

Tensioned rewind delivers clean, ready-to-finish rolls straight off the line.

Production economics

The number your estimator will ask about first

Throughput wins deadlines. Ink cost wins margins. NOMAD's water-based pigment runs from 5-litre bottles, not cartridges, and it shows in the cost per square metre.

Pure ink cost
~0.36 € / m²

At a 24 €/L ink price and a typical laydown of about 15 mL/m² on uncoated paper.

Ink + blueback media
0.76 € / m²

Total production consumables for standard billboard work, before labour and overheads.

Figures are indicative and depend on coverage, media and local pricing. Use the calculator below to model them on your own production, then request a full TCO on your actual jobs, your file, your media, your volumes.

Estimate your ink cost in ten seconds

Move the sliders to match your own production. The model uses ink only, the single largest variable a buyer controls.

Ink cost / m²
0,36 € / m²
Monthly ink spend
1 800 € / month

Indicative, ink only. Media, labour, energy and overheads are excluded. At the default settings the model returns about 0,36 €/m². Send us a real file and a real volume and we'll return a full TCO on your actual jobs.

See it run

Watch NOMAD print your file, not our showreel

Send us a production file and we'll run it live, in person or over a video link, at full speed on the media you actually use. You'll see the density, hear the shop floor, and time the run yourself.

Every demo ends with a written summary: measured speed on your file, ink consumption, and a cost-per-m² model you can take to your accountant. If NOMAD isn't the right fit for your production, we'll say so.
